GANGA - "For three decades, Ganga has brought alive the traditional folk music of the east Indian state of Bengal for audiences around the world..." Songs of GANGA are from the foothills of the Himalayas, tea plantations, protest songs of the tribal slaves and spiritual songs seeking a path to the divine performed on traditional acoustic instruments from the villages.

When Dennis Tito blasted off to the International Space Station in May of 2001, he took with him and listened to Broto's debut CD "American Raga".

This CD is a fusion of three classical instruments (a "tripalbandhi") of sarod - Indian bass lute, violin and tabla. Recorded live at the 14th annual Folk Music Festival in Lowell Massachusetts.
